Epic Wilsons Prom Hike – Melbourne Cup Weekend 2025 (Only 8 Spots left!)

Get set for an unforgettable adventure! We’ve booked our spot and are heading down to the stunning Wilsons Promontory in South Gippsland for a fantastic hiking trip over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.

The Dates: Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 30th to Saturday, November 1st, 2025. It’s a 3-day, 2-night trip, so you’ll need to book time off work for the Thursday and Friday.

The Adventure:

This trip is all about shared experience and breathtaking scenery. We’re keeping it inclusive – you’ll carry a medium backpack, but there’s no need for heaps of specialised camping gear or heavy group loads. It will be a challenge! Expect long hiking days (Day 1: ~19km, Day 2: ~23km) on relatively easy terrain. It’s a perfect opportunity to push yourself, enjoy some great company and bonding, and seriously clear your head surrounded by incredible nature – bushland, beaches, and cliffs await! Get ready to make some lasting memories.

The Plan:

We’re staying in cabins and then at the Lightstation in Cottage 2, making it more accessible if you don’t have full camping kit.

• Thursday, Oct 30th: Drive down to Tidal River (approx. 3 hours), settle into cabins.
• Friday, Oct 31st: Day 1 of our hike! We’ll end the day staying at the famous Lightstation in Cottage 2.
• Saturday, Nov 1st: Day 2 of hiking, followed by the drive back to Melbourne, getting you home with some of the long weekend still to enjoy.

What You’ll Need:

• Time off work: Thursday, Oct 30th & Friday, Oct 31st.
• Cost: $316 per person for the 2 nights’ accommodation. (Plus your own costs for food, petrol contributions, etc.)
